The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Raimon in particular was always very keen to help us with any concerns. He was always available for us!
Frank, the night watchman, was also always very obliging and he also has a small shop selling bracelets and necklaces!
The room was great and the complex itself was always very clean and inviting.
All in all, it was a great stay - we were more than satisfied.

I loved the colour, clarity and temperature of the water.
I loved the colour, clarity and temperature of the water. The sand was so soft and almost white. I didn't like the hassle on the beach though. It was easier to stay at the hotel to avoid it. But that's not why you visit another country!

Quiet part of the island with beach among the nicest.
Quiet part of the island with beach among the nicest. That meant fewer people and tranquility which was what I was looking for during that trip. The hotel was also exactly what I need. All the facilities (gym, massage, sports activities) + excellent food at a reasonable cost. And Fatma the day manager was great. A wonderful person and soul

We went to the Zan View Beach Bar most nights for happy hour and dinner. The beach has much more of a relaxed feel than Nungwi, which seemed more like a place for young people to get drunk whereas Kiwengwa was more families and laid-back properties.
The resort is on a lovely stretch of a long beach on the east of Zanzibar. It has two lovely pools (one a salt water pool), has security watching the hotel from the beach, preventing hagglers coming up to you, a range of eating and drinking areas, plus nightly shows and daily activities such as water polo and beach volleyball. All set in nice gardens and well designed. The rooms are very good, albeit we moved into a second room that had a slightly strange odour and the door handle to the bathroom fell off! Other than that, very good.
The choice was made because we like to discover new dishes and tastes in different countries, and it was a top place for the photos found on social media. The restaurant is definitely the best we had on our route in Zanzibar - bravo to the chef and the entire team. All dishes exceeded our expectations - delicious, fresh ingredients, large portions, amazing decorations. Everything else about the hotel was not something unique - just good and comfortable with an ocean view. So, I'm giving my 10 points to the kitchen.
Zanbluu is a truly fantastic hotel on the East coast of Zanzibar. The pool area is beautifully designed, really spacious and the pool was fantastic. Our lodge was also amazing - exactly as on the pictures with lovely view to the sea. The food was excellent - dinner menu was particularly good which changed every day. Overall we were really happy with our stay - if you fancy switching off and not doing much (other than sunbathing) this is the perfect place for you.
Great location beutiful view and beautiful hotel, the african details in every corner and the beautiful building of the hotel wow!.The beach Kiwengwa beach is beautiful 5 minits from the hotel. The staf especially my litle two Zanzibar sisters was amazing and all of the staff so welcoming.I will be back! Hakuna Matata Bella Bella
Excellent property and Alice from the Zanzibar Houses Office management was very easy to deal with. Suleyman was accessible throughout the stay and Sule (the stay-in security guy) was also respectful of our requests for privacy as a family. Rahmah the cleaning lady was amazing and the property was super clean everyday. Chef was also accommodating of our requests and made some excellent pancakes. If you like sunsets, it is a dream come true! :-)
My stay was great, I had the peace and quiet I was looking for. I purposely choose an intimate hotel as I don’t like crowded places. Friendly staff, really good cleaning service, restaurant food is very good. Was really happy with the private beach access that brought a luxurious aspect to my stay in Zanzibar.
As a solo traveler, I felt safe in the room and hotel itself.
If I ever go back in Zanzibar, I would probably stay at Imara again.
-Very friendly and helpful stuff (Special thanks for General Manager Mr. Aied Rizkalla, Chef Lotfy, Stella, Zabron and Said)
-Flash Tour Guide Suleyman he is very professional. He arranged our tours with best price in Zanzibar.
-Delicious food served.
-Best honeymoon welcoming I had ever seen in a hotel or resort.
-Hotel location is perfect. 45 min to every where on island. Hotel is perfect for family’s and couples.
Maybe the best location in Zanzibar. Kiwengwa has many restaurants and long beach with access. Having a rental car, we had the opportunity to explore most of the island and be able to compare.
Best staff (management, cooking, cleaning, safety)
Big house with 3 bedrooms and toilets, sea front, amazing view
We enjoyed our dinners at the villa, all problems with water, internet, A/C and tree fall were immediately solved
We liked to stay at this place. The chef is very nice and the food is amazing. We stayed on Zanzibar for 3 weeks (in more than 5 hotels) and here we had the best food. Also the time for getting the food was compared to the rest of Zanzibar high speed:)
The hotel itselfe is not directly at the beach, but has a private beach in 2min walking distance. In general, I would say that this hotel is perfect for families.
It was our first trip to Zanzibar and we've fallen in love with this beautiful island and this little paradise called 'Zanzibella'. Super friendly staff helped me organized amazing suprise for my fiancee. It's not often when I can give 10/10 for food quality, hotel restaurant is outstanding! First trip to Africa was safe and enjoyable thanks to this lovely people. Thank you and I hope see you!
I stayed in la base for 5 and the experience has been great. The place is really clean and comfortable. The restaurant is located right in front of the beach so you'll definitely have a relaxing time while enjoying your meal and drinks. Thanks to the hosts Cris and Luca. They were really cool. This place is a must when you're in kiwengwa.
I liked that the beach was accessible and there is a large swimming pool. The breakfast included in the booking was buffet style and had a lot of variety. There were also activities such as aqua gym etc. The hotel also has turn down service which was great. The restaurant and chef at the beach restaurant were great.
Not sure where to start...OUR STAY WAS MORE THAN AMAZING.. THE BEACH IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WE HAVE SEEN IN ZANZIBAR... WHITE SANDS AMAZING FOOD.. OUTSTANDING BREAKFAST AND WARM HEARTED ATTENTIVE STAFF.. I WILL DEFINETLY BE COMING BACK. THANK U IMARA FOR THIS EXPERIENCE. FOOODIS A MUST.
Very calm atmosphere. I felt like at home, very helpful staff, it felt very secure and relaxing.
The manager was very helpful and all the staff accommodating. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and would go back myself. This is exactly the kind of hotel that I expected in Zanzibar.
Thank you Z-Lodge for your tastes and excellent food. Ally for Margarita and Abdul for good jokes and big smile! room was made in eco-style, even the bottles designed to preserve nature- that's cool! All food tastes really fresh and sauces - loved it! Asante sana Zanzibar!
the owner of the property is one of the best person that I meet in Zanzibar.
