This hotel is beach front and although it was foggy and rainy, we could still see the ocean. We liked the fact that there as a little cafe run by Dave who made us up a shrimp and salad supper so we didn’t have to navigate in the fog! Most of all, the staff at the hotel are great and super helpful. We had a problem with payment which has been sorted out by the Manager, Lynnsey.

We really love the OBX and this hotel is in a perfect location for whatever you want to do!! We have stayed here several times and will definitely stay here again. You can’t beat the off season rates for everything they have to offer.

The last time I was in KDH was about 20 years ago and I have to say time has not not been kind to it. So commercial, touristy and filthy. Litter and cigarette butts covered the side of the road, where you will have to walk if you want some exercise, as there are no sidewalks on many of the busy streets. We visited in the off-season as a side trip on our way from NJ to GA so we could go to the Wright Brothers memorial. The memorial is nicely done, and the building it is housed in is lovely. I'd suggest making a day trip to see it and then getting out of town.

My review is of the outer banks area - kill devil hills to Corolla. Loved exploring the area and seeing the wild horses. Lots of seafood restaurants and beautiful scenery. We didn’t get a chance to see the Orville brothers monument or check out the Lighthouse. We definitely didn’t expect to see dolphins especially so many on our beach drive. Very beautiful area and would love to go back when it’s warmer.

I lived in KDH or Kitty Hawk For over 30 yrs. I I’ve the OBX but yeah it’s great!!! Got breakfast at Jolly Roger’s. And ate Pizza from Slice -took to the room and ate with a good bottle of wine. Visited the wright memorial, jockeys ridge, Bodie island lighthouse and crossed the new bridge over Oregon Inlet with family who had never been to OBX.

The hotel was right on the beach, always a plus, and many restaurants were easily accessible. It was clean and recently refurbished. The bed was comfortable. on the downside: walls were very thin—we were kept awake with music and singing the first night until after midnight. No staff onsite after 11 to deal with the situation. You could make out the words others were saying in other rooms. Hall noise also annoying. Breakfast bar was pretty ho-hum, didn’t even have a microwave to warm pastries. We ate breakfast in our room, usually.

Our room was big enough for two adults and 1 kid (6 years). Beach is just 1m walk - basically across the hotel area, and the swimming pool was open the whole day (only indoor as it was too cold for outdoor - no problem with that). Breakfast was ok - nothing superb, but good and fresh. Unlike other hotels - they still served breakfast - I had a bad experience already twice by being charged for breakfast and then "due to covid" breakfast was closed without any refund - here they still serve breakfast :-)

Location was just perfect, our view from the room to the ocean stunning! The Suite was very big and also the balcony. Beds comfortable, extra pillows. Hotel has direct access to the beach. Coffee is for free all day. We also enjoyed the pool, water was heated. Staff was very friendly. We found a lot of very good restaurants such as the „Goombays“.

This hotel was out of this world. Apart from being no safe in the room, they had thought of everything. There was an indoor pool which made the stay a lot better, we love a swim. It was never occupied when we went down for a dip. Breakfast was very nice, plenty to choose from. All the staff were very polite and helpful.

The location is amazing just few feet away from from the beach, you can really walk to the beach. Convenient location very close to major stores and restaurants. The room was a little too small and the free breakfast is very poor. But overall it was a nice stay and pet friendly hotel.

The Oceanfront Room on the second floor was awesome. It was only 17 steps to reach the room. The room was big enough and enjoyed it. The hotel even had 24 hour coffee/tea available.

Cute little inn on the beach. The breakfast is standard, but you can drink your coffee in front of an actual wood burning fire place.
